- Google Services revenue: $94.5 billion, up 15% year-over-year, led by 17% growth in Google Search and other, 13% growth in YouTube ads to $11.1 billion, and 15% growth in subscriptions, platforms, and devices

What Drove the Results
Google Cloud's acceleration from 28% growth in Q2 2025 to 82% in Q2 2026 represents a meaningful shift in the segment's scale. Nearly 90% of the Fortune 100 are using Gemini Enterprise, and the Gemini App has reached 950 million monthly active users, with models processing 22 billion API tokens per minute. Google Services operating income rose to $39.5 billion from $33.1 billion in the prior-year period, while Alphabet-level shared AI research and development expenses increased to $5.8 billion from $3.4 billion.
The $9.11 GAAP diluted EPS figure diverges materially from underlying operational performance. The primary driver was $98.0 billion in other income, principally net unrealized gains on equity securities. Excluding that item, operating income of $40.8 billion and a 34% operating margin reflect the core business trajectory.
Alphabet also disclosed significant capital market activity during the quarter. In June 2026, the company raised $49.6 billion in aggregate net proceeds through a combination of Class A stock, Class C stock, and mandatory convertible preferred stock, to be used for general corporate purposes, including capital expenditures to scale AI infrastructure and global compute. In addition, $20.3 billion in senior unsecured notes were issued for general corporate purposes. The company's board declared a quarterly common stock dividend of $0.22 per share, payable September 14, 2026.
Wall Street View
Analyst sentiment heading into the print was broadly constructive, with the preponderance of coverage weighted toward Buy-equivalent ratings. Shares fell -1.46% on Wednesday, July 22, while the S&P 500 declined -0.12%, as investors weighed the scale of the capital expenditure program against the operational results. The company's equity and debt raises signal a sustained commitment to AI infrastructure investment at a level that is drawing market attention to the pace of spending versus returns.
Investor Takeaway
The Q2 2026 results confirm that Google Cloud is no longer a secondary segment: at $24.8 billion in quarterly revenue and $8.8 billion in operating income, it is becoming a material profit contributor alongside Google Services. The critical forward question for investors is whether the capital deployed through the $49.6 billion equity raise and $20.3 billion debt issuance will sustain the Cloud growth trajectory or compress returns as infrastructure costs scale faster than revenue. The combination of accelerating Cloud growth and rising investment commitments sets a high bar for execution in the second half of 2026.
